Ciara mastered the ‘discipline’ early on working in fashion | Entertainment

Ciara learned the art of “discipline” when she started her fashion businesses.

The “1,2 Step” hitmaker runs The House of LR&C with her husband Russell Wilson and launched the new Dare To Roam clothing line in August.

And although with her music she was able to push back work, that is not possible in the fast-paced fashion industry.

And so, very early on, she had to adapt to tight deadlines – because fashion “deadlines” wait for no one.

Speaking to Glossy Pop, the 36-year-old star said: “Obviously I came from the artist’s field before I had this great opportunity to be able to start a fashion business.

“And sometimes, because of that creative spirit, you have to have discipline and deadlines.

“In fashion, timelines don’t wait for you. In music, I can say, ‘I want to postpone this album, let’s do it in a few weeks.’

“But it’s like, ‘No, you prepared Nordstrom for the fall that day.’

” You must do [a certain] time for fashion.

“So there is this discipline that you learn when you have the chance to get involved on the business side.

“Now I have mastered the discipline – I had no choice but to master it early enough in the process. But it was really fun learning and taking on the challenges that the business side of it all brings to you. “

Ciara also explained that her sources of fashion inspiration include her music and the vibe she puts it in, life and the people she meets on the streets in New York and Atlanta, who are “all over the place. different ethnic origins “.

She shared, “You go through different seasons.

“Sometimes it all depends on the mood you’re in – for me, when I do an album, my music inspires me and what I want to sound like.

“It’s like, ‘OK, these songs make me feel that way. This is the vibe I want to be on, from a fashion standpoint.’

“Life inspires me, and sometimes others inspire me – like when I walk the streets of New York or the streets of Atlanta, where I’m from.

“I see people walking around from all different ethnicities and rocking all kinds of styles in a super expressive way.” I take inspiration from that. The beauty of fashion is that inspiration can come from so many different places.

“Sometimes it’s really in the moment: you have a vision of something or an encounter with something that’s going on in life, and you’re like, ‘I’m really inspired by this moment. I will go back to the drawing board. ‘ That’s the beauty of fashion.
