Of all the amazing female athletes on campus, Griffin is one. And Reese says it’s not just her fantastic plays and her stats that set her apart.
“She always does the right thing and works hard on and off the pitch,” Reese said. “She wants to do well in everything she does, and that’s important to her. Her personality is caring and compassionate, yet passionate about what she does, whether it’s being a good student, a good teammate, a good girl, or a good friend.
The 9th ranked women’s lacrosse team enters the final stretch of the regular season. For Griffin, that means time is running out for his career in Maryland. But she doesn’t focus on that.
“I just want to take it moment by moment,” she said. “I’m grateful any time I can put on that Maryland uniform.”
The conference game streak for the Terps is up there with the toughest game streak any team in the country can have. The Big Ten has four teams in the Inside Lacrosse Top 25 poll, including Maryland, and every team ranks in the NCAA’s RPI top 30. And though the games will be tough, Griffin says no matter what happens this season, there’s one word she’ll use to describe her career.
“I’ve said it all this time, and it’s grateful. I will be eternally grateful.
