Originally built in 1950 and set on a 35-by-100-foot lot, the stately limestone mansion overlooks Fifth and Madison, offers more than 14,000 square feet of interior space across its six stories, and still contains plenty of furnishings. developed by the designer. Versace’s genius and vision are revealed over the first four floors, Sotheby’s notes in the list, each imbued with the designer’s legendary taste. The two upper floors have been redesigned in a lighter and more whimsical way by the last owners of the house.

“These levels include terrazzo floors with marble inserts, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a games lounge with billiards and arcade games, and a Moroccan-style media room,” the listing reads.

This grand reception area features an intricate geometric pattern incorporating the Greek key – a theme that resonates in the home’s original decorative details. The townhouse contains advanced security with cameras, multiple HVAC music system and zoned kaleidoscope throughout. The house also includes dual water pumps and boilers, all powered by their own generator. All metal work throughout the house – balcony/deck railings, exterior window grilles, interior decorative grilles – was done by sculptor Gabrielle Shelton.
