Valentino is heading to Venice to show off his fall / winter 2021 haute couture show, the luxury brand announced today. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, it has chosen to show in La Cité des canals, instead of showing in Paris, as it has traditionally done in recent years, or in Rome, as it has done in the last season for spring / summer 2021.
It also won’t air during Haute Couture Fashion Week, which runs July 4-7, and July 15, due to production delays. “One of the most difficult aspects of my job in these unprecedented times was reprogramming some of my recurring reflections, which of course included the concept and location of my fashion shows. The current mode of “travel with your fantasy” in which we are made me dream more and more, ”explained Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Calling the decision to show Venice a ‘natural decision’, Piccioli revealed that the next haute couture show for the house of FW21 is called Valentino Des Ateliers, a nod to the eponymous spaces where the magic of couture takes place in in camera. “I challenged myself to orchestrate a symphony of souls, minds and different creative inputs. All of these energies drove my vision to Venice, ”he said. “This city truly and spontaneously generates vibrations on art, theater, music, architecture, cinema and everything to do with creativity.”

While the exact location has yet to be announced, we are already exploring possible locations that could rival the grandeur of Galleria Colonna, Sala Grande, in Rome, where she showed her SS21 haute couture fashion show. On our list of possible places: the Palazzo Ducale, the Palazzo Fortuny, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, the Teatro La Fenice or even the Piazza San Marco, nothing would be too eccentric for the Valentino house.
Stay tuned for the location and collection reveal.
