The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts presents “#PROCESS2022”, a fashion show and exhibition organized by the Department of Fashion Design + Merchandising. This year’s annual event will feature original fashions by emerging designers and an immersive experience by up-and-coming merchandisers.

The free event is open to the public and takes place on Wednesday, May 11 at Virginia Art Museum, 200 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd., with parking available in the museum parking lot. The first parade starts at 6 p.m. with another parade at 7:15 p.m.

Students will demonstrate the fashion process from concept to consumer through illustration, draping and pattern making, trend forecasting, product development and promotions.

The exhibition – held between the shows – will spotlight VCUarts alumni and artists Jen Paxton Parker and VCUarts faculty member Michael-Birch Pierce. Paxton Parker will paint fashion illustrations, and Pierce, a renowned fiber artist and fashion designer will create portraits on a sewing machine.
